Malibu of the Midwest
Exploring what it means to live in the "Malibu of the Midwest" OWLS founder Craig Grabhorn worked with teachers, and students of South High School exploring design process, and product design while crafting surf boards.
A classroom turned into a form shaping, and fiberglassing space to explore ideas and create six surfboards. Students learned about shape values, material usage, graphic approaches, methods to shape, fiberglass and craft surfboards.
The project concluded with an outing to North Beach to test out the boards and document.
